Today Subaru of America announced that they will return to a two-car team for the 2014 season with former Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana. It's been a few years since Pastrana has competed in traditional stage rallies, but we have a feeling he'll shake the rust off pretty quick.
Pastrana first started with Subaru Rally Team USA back in 2004. He went on to win consecutive Rally America championships from 2006-2010 before pursuing a career in NASCAR.
“I'm so happy to be back with the team I've been most successful with in the past. Rally racing is where my heart is and it’s a privilege to do it in a Subaru. The competition is stronger and our cars are faster than they have ever been here in the USA. It won't be easy to get back to the top, but I'm looking forward to the challenge!” said Pastrana.
Teammates David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew will kick off the season January 24-25th in Michigan's Sno*Drift Rally while Pastrana will join the team February 21st-22nd at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in Salem, MO.
